Our Founder
Charles (CG) Morrison, CPA
Charles (CG) Morrison spent the early part of his career in public practice, helping small to medium sized businesses with tax compliance and financial statement preparation. He noticed a problem: there was a gap between what growing companies need and where traditional CPA firms fall short. The idea for Black Swan Advisory was born.
Since then, CG has spent more than a decade leading finance teams of multi-million dollar businesses with experience in construction, manufacturing, real estate and professional services. CG has developed and taught modules on finance and accounting to businesses and teaches courses on financial management and accounting at Camosun College in Victoria, BC.
CG holds a CFO Certificate from CPABC, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, and a bachelor’s degree in economics (with distinction) from the University of Alberta. He honed his competitive spirit for business in the sporting world, playing basketball at the University of Alberta, at one point contemplating a professional career on the court.
He was a recipient of the President's Trophy Award for leadership and contribution to the U of A and Golden Bear athletics as a student-athlete, and recently the Innovation in Student Success award for his teaching at Camosun College. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, outside of work he enjoys playing golf, motorsport, and skiing.
